DESCRIPTION

If the front passenger side door entry lock function does not operate but the entry unlock function operates, the communication between the vehicle and electrical key transmitter is normal. The malfunctioning part may be the entry lock sensor circuit (front door outside handle assembly (for passenger side) (entry lock sensor) → certification ECU).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
  1. The entry and start system (for entry function) uses a multiplex communication system (LIN communication system) and CAN communication system. Inspect the communication function by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting (Click here). Troubleshoot the entry and start system (for entry function) after confirming that the communication system is functioning properly.
  2. When using the intelligent tester with the engine switch off to troubleshoot: Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3, and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5-second intervals until communication between the tester and vehicle begins.

1.CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION

  1. When the door control switch on the master switch assembly is operated, check that the doors unlock and lock according to switch operation (Click here).

    OK:
    Door locks operate normally.

2.READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Data List.

  1. Read the Data List according to the display on the intelligent tester.

3.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (P-DOOR TRIGGER SWITCH)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body / Entry & Start / Data List.

  1. Read the Data List according to the display on the intelligent tester.

4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE - CERTIFICATION ECU)

  1. Disconnect the certification ECU connector.

  1. Disconnect the front door outside handle (for passenger side) connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
